Michael J. Armitage: Founder/President
A graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Michael Armitage spent several years as an accountant in a CPA firm. In 1978, he was appointed as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and assigned to the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office. His primary assignments were investigating white-collar and organized crimes.
In 1982, he was transferred to New York City where he worked on cases that included bank fraud and embezzlement, public corruption, undercover assignments, the Iran-Contra scandal, and a major congressional bribery matter. He also served as a supervisor on both the bank fraud and public corruption squads.
In 1987, Michael resigned from the FBI after ten years of service. He returned to Milwaukee and, realizing the need for professional and technical expertise in the field of private investigation, founded Armitage & Associates.
Michael is affiliated with the following organizations: Advisory Committee for Froedtert Hospital; Board Member of the Better Business Bureau of Milwaukee; Member Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Inc.; and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
